Rampage Hockey Games

4R Family-
As many of you know, my husband works for Spurs Sports and Entertainment.  In an effort to fill seats at Rampage Hockey games over the holiday season employees are allowed to offer FREE tickets to friends and family.  Matt has extended this offer to all 4R families (and their friends).  Below is the Rampage schedule for the next few weeks.  If you are interested in tickets please let me know how many and for which games.  DON'T BE SHY about numbers or how  many games you would like to attend.  They are excited to expose as many people to Rampage Hockey as they can. Tickets will be picked up at Will Call, so let me know what name you want it left under!  ENJOY!

Email List

We are considering putting parent email addresses and possibly phone numbers on our blog.  (just in case someone looses their contact list).  Please let Mrs. Turner know by Friday, September 30th if you are comfortable having this information posted, and if so which email/phone number you would like on this site.

Changes to Friday September 23rd

OK!  We are very sorry for changing the schedule so many time recently.  Getting into the new school year means getting out the kinks.  On Friday, the 2nd graders will be attending "The Jungle Book".  The older class was going to meet them to view the new butterfly exhibit at the Botanical Gardens.  After visiting with the education coordinator we learned that the exhibit only takes 15-20 min to go through.  This didn't seem like an efficient use of our time that afternoon.  So, the 2nd graders will see the play and then return to school after lunch, and the older class will have a normal school day on Friday.  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Turner or Mrs. Pierce.  Thank you.

Changes in Math

Right before we came back to school Mrs. Pierce and I were able to attend a training at Geneva regarding a new math program they started this year (Math In Focus).  Since we already had our Saxon books we decided to move forward with Saxon for the year.  After doing more research and seeing how the girls are working through Saxon this year, we have decided to meld both Saxon and Math In Focus together.  Given the higher level math we are learning this year we feel Math In Focus allows a deeper understanding of the concepts and promotes higher level thinking to solve problems.  This will not mean buying new books!  I wanted to prepare parents and students for the change, so no one is worried when math homework and lessons begin to look a little different.  If you have any questions regarding this change please contact me!  Thanks- Mrs. Turner
